After the CC, Beetle coupe, Tiguan and Touareg, the Beetle Convertible will be the fifth model to join VW’s R-Line range in the U.S. market. The 2014 Beetle Convertible R-Line, which was unveiled today at the Chicago Auto Show, is based on the 200HP Turbo model and comes with a long list of extra equipment.
On the exterior, it features 19-inch alloy wheels with lower profile all-season tires, which according to VW, enhance the Turbo’s handling. An R-Line badge on the front grille and bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime-running lights are further additions that set it apart from the cooking model.
The cabin sports flat-bottom R-Line steering wheel, aluminum sport pedals, leather seat upholstery, stainless-steel scuff plates with the R-Line logo and a “metallic-finish” on the dashboard.
Standard equipment includes keyless access with push-button engine start, the RNS 315 navigation system and the 10-channel Fender Premium Audio System with eight speakers, a rear subwoofer and a 400W amplifier.
