Dacia Range May Gain Larger Sedan and City Car, But Not in the Next 18 Months

|

The Dacia brand, recently launched in the UK, is currently doing quite well in all markets where it is present. The latest generation of the Logan and Sandero have already gone on sale, completing a range which includes the Duster SUVLodgy MPV and the Dokker commercial vehicle.
In addition, a new model was revealed at this year's edition of the Geneva Motor Show, the estate version of the Logan, called the MCV.
However, the latter is the last new Dacia for another 18 months, if we are to believe a report by Autocar. According to the British publication, Dacia will concentrate on popularizing its current range of products, before considering the launch of additional models.
Apparently, Renault boss Carlos Tavares said that a small Skoda Citigo-sized city car, as well as a larger Fluence-sized sedan should not be discounted, as development and production of these two models would be right up their alley. These two new models would boost the brand's mass-market appeal and, of course, overall sales figures.
We're curious to see how low they are willing to go with the pricing of this small city car, because it will most likely be one of the cheapest cars in the world.  It may also share its platform with the new Renault Twingo, while the larger sedan may borrow bits from the Renault-badged Fluence, which is actually a Korean car, the Samsung SM-3.
