What a Tease: New McLaren P12 Hypercar Outlined in Video and Photos

|

Apparently, McLaren wants to keep us on our toes as it prepares for the presentation of a new model, which we believe to be the famed F1's successor either in concept or (less likely) final production form, at the Paris Motor Show on September 27.The new teaser video and photos released by McLaren outline the shape of the car through a lightshow, providing some fresh details compared to the initial press image circulated around the internet earlier this month.
Some visible styling cues include the roof scoop as a direct nod to the F1, the alloy wheel designs and the heavily pronounced rear fenders – if you noticed more details, feel free to enlighten us in the comments area.
The British company's new hypercar, which is currently known under the codename P12, is the design child of Frank Stephenson, who made a name for himself with the 2001 Mini hatch and the Fiat 500, but has also worked on the original BMW X5, Maserati MC12 and Ferrari F430 among other cars.
The P12 will likely use an upgraded version of the MP4-12C's 3.8-liter bi-turbocharged V8, possibly married to a Formula 1-style Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) for an output in excess of 700 ponies.
