Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic MPVs Receive Second Facelift in a Year

|

It has only been a year (and a couple of weeks, to be precise) since Renault updated the Scenicand its longer-wheelbase Grand Scenic sibling last January, but the French carmaker took the opportunity of the unveiling of the new Scenic XMOD to apply another refresh to its minivan series. On the outside, the Scenic and Grand Scenic take on Renault’s new design identity as seen on the Clio and Captur crossover with the use of a traditional grille encompassing a larger version of the brand's logo, while interior improvements are limited to Renault's latest R-Link infotainment system featuring joystick control plus a touchscreen display.
Renault also made changes to the engine lineup with the introduction of three Energy powertrains, noting the new Energy TCe 130PS boasts a 15 per cent improvement in fuel consumption over the previous TCe 130 unit, equivalent to a combined-cycle saving of more than 1 liter/100km.
The 2013 model Scenic and Grand Scenic will debut at next month's Geneva Motor Show with European sales to begin shortly after.
