America's newest, baddest and fastest sports car, the 206mph (332km/h) 2013 SRT Viper from the Chrysler Group, is available for order today. It offers buyers a choice of two models, the base version priced at $97,395 and the better equipped GTS at $120,395 (equal to €76,000 and €93,900 at today's rates). Both MSRPs do not include a $1,995 destination charge.
“The Street and Racing Technology brand team is extremely proud that our hand-built-in-Detroit, flagship supercar is back and ready to take on the performance-car world,” said SRT CEO Ralph Gilles.
“Our returning customers will see the world-class levels of pride, quality and hand-built craftsmanship built into the 2013 Viper," he added.

Together with the opening of the order books, SRT also unloaded a fresh batch of images of the new generation Viper, which brings the tally to 224 images (including some 100 from a previous set).
The 2013 Viper gains its venom from an 8.4-liter mid-front V10 engine producing 640-horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque, which Chrysler says is "the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports-car engine in the world".
An improved Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission with closer gear ratios and a final drive ratio that has been shortened to 3.55 from 3.07 drives the rear wheels, allowing the Viper to achieve its top speed of 206 mph (331 km/h) through 6th gear with maximum engine speed (redline) at 6,200 rpm.
