First Video Look at the 2014 New Chevrolet SS from the Daytona Presentation

|

Chevrolet's highly anticipated re-entry in the rear-wheel drive, V8-powered sedan segment after an absence of nearly two decades, the new 2014 SS, was introduced this past Saturday at the Daytona International Speedway alongside the bow-tie brand's NASCAR competitor, which borrows the name, but not much else from the production model. What you need to know about the SS is that it's the American-specification version of the new VF Series Australian Holden Commodore SS V, which itself, is a redesign of the VE Series Commodore that we came to know as the Pontiac G8between 2007 and 2009.
Like the Impala SS from the decade that brought us into the dot com era, the new SS takes its 415hp 6.2-liter LS3 V8 from the Corvette (C6), with the only transmission option offered being a six-speed automatic driving the rear wheels.
Now that we've covered the basics on the new SS, we'll let you check out the videos from Chevy's Daytona presentation (did you notice the pace-car version?) that follow after the break.
