Icona Vulcano Revealed with Single Photo Shot from Above

This is the first complete image of the Vulcano supercar, built by Italian design firm Icona. The photo is still not very telling, but it does show the whole car. However, one can’t get the sense of proportion, and make comments on its design, yet, because it only allows us to see the car in a top-down perspective, which currently makes it look a bit like a Lexus LF-A – we will have to wait for its show floor debut in Shanghai to be able to make accurate comments.
Aside from the predictably pretty styling, Icona’s other goal with this car was to showcase its hybrid powertrain. It reportedly features a front-mounted V12 boosted by some form of electrification, and it apparently makes in excess of 900 hp. The top speed will be around 350 km/h (218mph), and 0-200 km/h (124mph) will be under ten seconds.
The builders of the system, also an Italian firm, called Lombardi, will actually be debuting two different variation, called H-Turismo and H-Competizione – we will leave it up to you to figure out which is designed for road use and which for racing.
We are very eagerly awaiting photos of this, and the complete technical details of the hybrid system. Present at the event to show off the car will be its designer, Samuel Chuffart who also worked for Bertone, Jaguar-Land Rover and Nissan.
