LA Show Preview: 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket Special

There's no shortage of special editions over at the Chrysler Group which has just released details and a single photo of its next limited run model, the 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket in advance of next week's Los Angeles Auto Show.
No prizes for guessing why the special Challenger is named like that. On the outside, Dodge designers combined a Stinger Yellow body color with a black grille surround and matching color profile stripes highlighted by the bespoke Yellow Jacket logo on the rear fender.
A set of newly designed 20-inch five-spoke cast-aluminum wheels with black painted pockets complete the exterior upgrades.
As for the interior, while Dodge has yet to release pictures, the company says that the special edition Challengers SRT8 gets standard leather featuring an exclusive Stinger Yellow accent band with embroidered Yellow Jacket logo and silver accent stitching.
"The Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket adds another piece of performance car nostalgia to our rear-drive muscle coupe lineup in 2012," said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand and Motorsports. "The Stinger Yellow paint and interior accents speak directly to the performance enthusiast who appreciates a memorable and collectible color that helps deliver even more excitement and exclusivity."
The Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket keeps the standard model's 6.4-liter V8 HEMI engine that is rated at 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque..
Without getting into specific details, Dodge said that it will build a limited number of 2012 Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket models for the U.S. market. The car will be available for order in December with the first examples to arrive in showrooms in the first quarter of 2012.
