Gumpert Rises From its Ashes and Appears at the Geneva Auto Show

|

What a better way to tell the automotive world that you're back and alive than making an appearance at one of the most prestigious motor shows of the year. After declaring insolvency last year, Germansupercar maker Gumpert was given stay of execution, thanks to a new and mysterious investor and a fresh batch of orders for its Apollo model, which went on display unchanged at this week's Geneva Motor Show.
The Apollo series uses an Audi-sourced 4.2-liter with twin-turbochargers. According to the automaker's web site, the base version delivers 650PS (641HP) and 850Nm of peak torque for a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 360km/h (224mph).
Gumpert has also promised to introduce a new model series based on the Tornante Concept from last year's Geneva Motor Show before the end of this year.
