If you're willing to trade some passenger space for a more stylish body and at the same time, don't care about the €25,000 (about US$32,900, in Germany) premium over BMW's other super-fast sports saloon, the M5, then by all means, you should check out the new M6 Gran Coupe. We've already shared details and a photo galleryof the newest member of the BMW M family with you, but now it's time to see the turbocharged sports saloon in action through a series of video trailers that also include the usual static beauty shots.
As a reminder, the new M6 Gran Coupe shares its platform and mechanical components with the M5 saloon, with both models being powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 feeding 553hp (560PS) and a peak torque of 680Nm (501 lb-ft) to the rear wheels through a seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission.
The M6 Gran Coupe tips the scales at 1,950kg (4,299 pounds), or a mere 5kg (11 pounds) more than the M5 sedan.
Despite being marginally more heavy than the M5, BMW says the M6 Gran Coupe is actually 0.1 seconds faster at the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint at 4.2 seconds (or at least on paper, because in the video, it says 4.3"...), while the two cars share an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h (155mph), which can be raised in both cases to 305km/h (189.55 mph) with the optional M Driver’s Package.
